MG34s captured during the combats in the Saar are in 1939 (Wartime newspaper Le Miroir).

Still from this newspaper and photos from 1939.

3. Groupe franc from 29e DI with a captured MG34
From left to right = lieutenant Laroche, soldier with Erma SMG, chasseur Bertrand, caporal-chef Adriant and lieutenant Renucci with civilian boots.

4. 2 French gendarmes (military police) with 2 Germans POWs and a captured MG34
