researching a 1 March 1918 battle between German 78th Reserve Division and the US 1st Division:

a General "Hofmann" is mentioned once in von Gallwitz' book re a key artillery planning meeting on the Moselle in February 1918. Wondering if this might by Genlt Max Hofmann, Cdr of Beskidenkorps?...

Moeller's PLM im WK says that Beskidenkorps had transferred to the Western Front at the end of October 1917 to be engaged between the Maas and Moselle rivers.

thanks for any assistance
