Re: General Feldtkeller
Hi Elwyn,
if it is the same officer in both photographs, then according to the date on the top photo, it must be Erich Ernst as Adolf was not promoted to Generalmajor until 22 March 1918.
Regards
Glenn

Re: General Feldtkeller
Hi Glenn,
Here's more of presumably Erich Ernst Richard from 94 Res Inf Brig album in mid 1915. Would you have this as his command? I know Erich Ernst Richard started with IR 176 in 1914. But I only have him with 5 Ersazt Div and 87 ID.
Internet also shows an ObstLt Feldtkeller with LW IR 61. Would this be Adolf Louis who was Kmdr of IR 61 in 1914 and then 32 Inf Brig later?
Cheers

Re: General Feldtkeller
Elwyn,
Erich Feldtkeller was the commander of 94. Infanterie-Brigade from November 1914 to December 1917 and yes, Adolf Feldtkeller was the the first commander of LIR 61 although he did not command IR 61.

Excellent Glenn.
That's what I meant, Landwehr IR 61. Crummy shorthand on my part.

Re: General Feldtkeller
Hallo Elwyn, I saw by accident your problem with the photograph of General Feldtkeller. I can tell you that it shows without any doubt General Erich Ernst Richard Feldtkeller. I know that Photo, because he was my grandfather! Erich had a cousin named Adolf, both have been in the "Kadettenanstalt" in Kulm (now Chelmo, Poland) at the same time. I think, Adolf was a bit older than Erich, for he came to Kulm before Erich.
If you need more informations about my grandfather, please tell me. Perhaps I can help you.
Best regards
Grossvater

Re: General Feldtkeller
Hi Elwyn, Glenn and Grossvater!
My late wife's grandfather was General Erich Feldtkeller. I have in my possession his memoirs, which he wrote for his three daughters. I have translated them into English and am planning to publish them soon. As you can imagine, the photographs above would certainly add interest to the book if included. Would you be able to share them with me? I wonder how you got hold of them!
Best wishes,
Rowland

Re: General Feldtkeller
Hi Rowland,
These were photographs auctioned off Ebay circa the time I posted the inquiries. Unfortunately, I don't physically collect them.

Re: General Feldtkeller
Gents,
Which of these Feldtkellers commanded the "Feldtkeller Regiment"? This regiment seems to have been formed from Ersatz Battalion IR/59 (Allenstein) & possibly other battalions of stellvertretende 69. Inf brigade (Semmern Brigade) at the beginning of the war in Graudenz.

Re: General Feldtkeller
Hi Waldo,
I don't think it was Erich Feldtkeller. Erich was stationed in Graudenz for a time before the war but left it in 1889/90. I have done a search for both IR/59 and 69. Inf brigade in his memoirs and found nothing.
Regards,
Rowland
