Hi

I am searching a first name for Hptm x Michaelis who served in FAR 1 and FAR 54.
I have his promotions.
In the later part of the War he served within the Flakwaffe.

:)

Hi again

I am still searching any added info for an identification of this German officer.

Any hints are welcome ! (Even small added info might be helpful)

Hi again

I am coming back regarding Hptm x Michaelis. Apparently he had left FAR 1 shortly before WW1 started.

Is he mentioned in any of the books about FAR 45 or FAR 1 ?

I am looking for an possible first name and date place of birth.

Gunnar and Ken,

Leutnant HANS Michaelis (19.7.05 Nn) was serving with FAR 1 at Insterburg in 1914 (1914 Insterburg adreßbuch).

Robert Michaelis was a retired Oberstleutnant formerly commanding the Artillery depot in Insterburg recalled to service in WW1.

Regards
Glenn

Thank you for clarifying that. For what it is worth the follow are the Michaelis entries from some of the Insterburg city directories available online:

Thanks Glenn (again) ! you nailed another of my hard nuts.

Also thanks Ken.

Hans Michaelis apparently trained to flying observer shortly before the War started. He then served like 6 months as flyer before transferred back to the Army. Then later during the War he did became an Flak officer which since autumn 1916 became a part of the German Air Force (mostly officers from FAR Regimenten)

Now it is only for me to find his date and place of birth.

:)
