He was appearently not the Prussian Prince made Russian Fieldmarshal in 1872. It seems that this was the Crownprince Friedrich Wilhelm Nikolaus Karl (1831-1888) who was made Fieldmarshal of the Russian Empire. He ruled for a brief time during the Year of the three Emperors in 1888 as Friedrich III.
