Hi All,

Does anyone have any information re the XI.13 – 2.Landsturm-Infanterie-Bataillon (Gera) at all?.
My Great-Grandfather Edmund Eckardt was in this unit. I've attached a photo of him in uniform. Any info at all re where they were, what they did, what Armee or Corps were they attached to would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Rohan

Rohan,

There is a 5-page history of the battalion in the second volume of "Thüringen im Weltkrige" published in 1921. If you read German, I can scan it and send it to you.

If not, would you please provide any dates he might have served (if you happen to know any) so that I can extract relevant information from the book and either post it or send it to you?

Andy

Hi Andy,

Thanks mate. I appreciate that. My Dad can read German fluently, so I could get him to translate. My Dad said Edmund was in the unit for the duration of WW1, from mobilisation until the end.
If you could please send it, that would be fantastic.
