Identifying a Hussar?

#1

Post by Chris Dale » 09 Feb 2017, 22:35

I was emailed this photograph and asked to identify it. It shows Hermann Sobtzick, in what looks to me like a Prussian Hussar uniform. The shoulder straps look possibly like a one year volunteer but I can't tell much more. Can anybody else offer advice?
Cheers

Chris,

Hermann Sobtzick was a factory owner in Ratibor (Silesia). That is the uniform of a one year volunteer in Husaren-Regiment Nr. 6. He was commissioned into Train-Bataillon Nr. 6 as Leutnant d.R. on 20 April 1909.

Regards
Glenn
