The official AHF Imperial German Army & Navy quiz thread

#1

Post by Marcus » 09 Oct 2005, 14:28

We've had several different quizes running here in the forum for a while with great success and now that this new section has been opened, I'm starting one here too..

The rules are very simple:
The first one to post the correct answer to a question, posts a new question (must be on the Imperial German Army or Navy) and so on.

Thanks Peter,

which German Regiment was unusual in that at mobilisation in 1914 it was commanded in the field by a Generalleutnant/General der Infanterie who was also the the head of the local ruling ducal house?

Regards
Glenn

Glenn,

Would the regiment be 5.Thüringisches Infanterie-Regiment (Nr. 94) from the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach?

Commander General der Infantrie Duke Wilhelm Ernst?

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

no, but you are very close. :D Großherzog Wilhelm Ernst was the "Chef" of I.R. 94 but did not personally assume command and lead it into the field as did the Herzog I am looking for!

Glenn
