Robert Meier passed away on the 29th January 2007.

http://dersdesders.free.fr/bio_veterans/meier.html

A babelfish translation:
Robert Meier is born on March 10, 1897. His/her parents, German, are farmers and have a great field in Poland, in the area of Lotz. The family speaks several languages: Polish, Russian and platdeutsch (a German dialect). His/her grandfather is a former veteran of the war of 1870-1871. Robert Meier works as farm labourer as of May 1914 in the area of Hohensalza. August 13, 1916 it integrates the 8th Company of reserve of infantry of the 215è Régiment and share into the face. It fights initially in the sector of Verdun; goshawks, the villages are not that ruins 90 remember years later. Robert Meier does not like the war and respects French; he binds friendship with a young Frenchwoman in a village of the surroundings of Verdun. He would have married well with her, but the war takes it along déja worms of other fields much less pleasant than that of the Love. It fights then with the Way of the Injuries, in the trenches: they are the great battles of 1917. It remembers that him and his/her comrades, to escape from the unfavourable balls, will hide in the old underground careers which under-mine the row heights of face. Once, not wishing to trap of French advanced too imprudently, Robert informs them of the danger in their shouting "to leave immediately". But it is wounded with the knee on July 11, 1918 in Saint-Quentin by a Senegalese rifleman; his/her comrades must hide it in a corn field; it is sent in a hospital in Berlin. November 12, 1918, it is affected in a battalion of protection of the borders with Bromberg, in Germany. December 5, 1919, it integrates the 83è Régiment of the Gunners of Reichswehr into Schneidemühl. From August 10, 1920 to October 31, 1921, it joined a company of interior safety in Rossbach Altrosen close to Kreuzburg. It is again built-in in 1942, at the time of the Second War: he is a railwayman and responsible for a military warehouse; he will not fight this time, because probably of his age. He is made prisoner on May 9, 1945 and remains more than two years prisoner in a camp in the Caucasus.
