Kings African rifles officers

Postby keith A on 03 Jul 2012 17:41

I have been looking at photographs of British KAR officers, and British officers in East Africa during WW1. In a couple of photos it appears the officers carried SMLE rifles. Was this common? The sources I have read are very poor in describing personal weapons. I assume that the officers usually had Webley revolvers but were any other types carried?

Regards

Cheers danebrog.

I found quite a few photos on this site, including a couple of officers carrying rifles, which is what prompted my question.

Thanks
