Nigeria Regiment 1914-18

The subject of uniforms.....

The Osprey title "Armies in East Africa" indicates a uniform that is a brown sweater and a green cap comforter but all the photos I have seen show the Kilmarnock cap or a floppy sun hat in various configurations. Does anyone know what officers wore? I assume the Wolseley helmet and standard tropical KD but....what about headwear? :?

I believe I have seen a picture of a British officer with the Nigerian Brigade wearing a pith helmet. There is a book on archives.org "With the Nigerians in East Africa" which may have it somewhere.
