Biography General Wahle

Postby Scarlett on 17 Nov 2005 09:44

I'm looking for biographic details of Major-General (ret.) Wahle,
who served under Lettow-Vorbeck in the East-African campaign.

All details (Christian name, date and place of birth, military career) would be welcome.

Is he the father of Generalmajor Carl Wahle, who commanded the
47th Infantry Division in France and Belgium in August/September 1944?

Scarlett,

It was Kurt Wahle who served under Lettow-Vorbeck.

Generalmajor Carl Wahle (as indicated here : http://www.bridgend-powcamp.fsnet.co.uk ... 0Wahle.htm ) was the son of Generalmajor Otto Wahle.

Both being Saxon though suggests a family link.

Kurt Wahle was visiting his son in Tanga in 1914 who was a Leutnant der Reserve.

Wahle published a book on his Oastafrika experience in 1920, Erinnerungen an meine Kriegsjahre in Deutsch-Ostafrika 1914- 1918.

Regards,
Peter

A Major von Boerncken returning from South Africa in August 1914 also ended up under Lettow-Vorbeck's command.

I'd been looking for details on Gen Maj Wahle for some time. So thanks for all this. Does anyone have any more photos of him especially in Africa.
Cheers

Thank you so much, Reichskolonialamt!

I've been looking for this information for such a long time!
Nowhere on the web or the books available to me I've found more than just General Wahle, and the information that he was retired from the Royal Saxon Army.

Thanks again! Scarlett

I want to know more about Richar Wahle. Father or General Otto Wahle.

http://saebi.isgv.de/biografie/Georg_He ... 54-1934%29

He was " Richard (* um 1816), MdL, Regierungsrat, königlicher Justiziar, Gerichtsvorstand"

Thank you very much.
