I've beentrying to upload a picture of my Grandfather Kaspar Dorsch who was in the German army during the Boxer Rebellion but the photo--while small--keeps getting rejected because it exceeds the 512KiB.Chris Dale wrote:I just stumbled across this website giving a breakdown of which home units provided how many troops for the East Asian Expeditionary Corps- http://sh-home.de/lolawolf/truebplatz/c ... ldzug.html

Here's Michael's photo of Kaspar Dorsch. It looks to me like he's in a Line Bavarian Infantry (or artillery) regiment when this photo was taken. Does anyone else have any thoughts on it?
Cheers

Re: Ostasiatisches ExpeditionKorps
Thanks for the posting of website listing German units in Ostasiatisches ExpeditionKorps. Sorry no one could provided any further info about my grandfather. Lots of interesting material, however. Many thanks.
Re: Ostasiatisches ExpeditionKorps
Dear all,
Although this topic is already a couple of years old, I'd like to give it a try.
I'm currently preparing my PhD on the later Oberst Paul Kuhlo, who was commander of the "Ostasiatisches Marine Detachement, OMD" [East Asian Marine Detachement] and became POW in Japan.
I have a hugh portfolio of several letters, postcards and Kuhlos diary, which I will evaluate for my PhD.
I heard from the descendant, that there must be some photo album from the belonging of Kuhlo, which is untraceable.
Does anybody have any documents, photos or anything else respective to:
- Paul Kuhlo,
- the Japanese POW camp Tôkyô Asakusa (tempel Higashi Hongan-ji)
- the Japanese POW camp Narashino?
Thanks in advance and br,
Chris
