I was wondering if any of the sites are visible to any degree by Google Earth? Alan Drew Boise, Idaho

Google earth's map of the Ketrzyn / Rastenburg area is not good, and the Wolf's Lair cannot be distinguished. The Berlin sites such as the Bendlerblock are all very clear.

The tree stump - I think - is a section cut from the surrounding trees, which shows where the camoflage netting was strung. You can see other standing trees in the area, many of which have a wire 'scar' around their trunks at a height of about 25 feet.

Hope this helps.

Google Earth has now upgraded its photos of the area. Here the location of the Wolfsschanze in relation to the town of Rastenburg (Ketrzyn) is shown.

This closeup shows the immediate area. Not much is visible through the trees, as was of course the intention when laying out the site. The barracks which are now used as a hotel are visible, as are one or two shells of buildings.
