American lieutenant (later captain) of Serbian origin George Wuchinich was the chief of American OSS intelligence mission ALUM in Slovenia from 27.11.1943 till 25.7.1944. In one of his reports he mentioned that Germans had tried twice to make an agreement with partisans but had been unsuccessful. The first time it was in Mokronog in January 1944. The second time it was end of February 1944 with the help of a professor from Ljubljana.
Hi Trekker and thanks for the update. I know of Mokronog negotiations, but they took place in November 1943 rather than February 1944. Maybe there was a second round in February 1944, who knows... Where can Vucinich's report be found?

Cheers,

G.

It's here:
Dušan Biber: Poveljnik ameriške obveščevalne misije ALUM o Sloveniji 1943-1944, Prispevki za novejšo zgodovino, Ljubljana, 2006. no. 1, p. 337
http://www.sistory.si/publikacije/preno ... 2#page=329

And that's all there is:
Poročal je tudi o pogajanjih Nemcev s partizani in omenil, da so se Nemci s partizani poskušali sporazumeti dvakrat, a neuspešno; prvič januarja 1944 v Mokronogu in konec februarja 1944 s pomočjo profesorja iz Ljubljane.

Colonel Peter Wilkinson was a Clowder mission leader in Yugoslavia in the period December 1943 - March 1944. He wrote Memorandum on uprising in Slovenia (PRO, FO 371/44255 R 7125/8/92). The following information is based on its Slovene translation.

In paragraph 55 he wrote that Slovenes didn't take prisoners and that he was told Slovenes were always shot by Germans but Wilkinson expressed his doubt based on prisoners' sources. On two occasions Germans made contact with Slovene headquarters and suggested exchange. They were turned down both times. Wilkinson added that undoubtedly important persons were occasionally exchanged.

In paragraph 151 he wrote that in December 1943 Germans contacted Slovene headquarters and suggested truce. They promised not to chase them in exchange of free passage of German troops on Slovene roads and railroads. They even offered free Gorica/Gorizia to partisans in Primorska. They were turned down.

I am very interested in the mission of Pace, Locatelli and Muzzolini with
the partisans of Tito. In particular I would like to deepen your
statements: "ONZ organized to meeting with Muzzolini, Peace and Locatelli
11.9.1944.Next day they were all put under arrest. Two political (KPS)
officials in IX. Korpus demanded their execution claiming they worked for
gestapo "ONZ headquarters wanted them in Bela krajina" On the way there,
"Peace and Loccatelli managed to escape." Muzzolini and Marcello were
interrogated and executed ". Where can I find the documents that talk about
it? Is there anything in English or Italian?

The documents are in Slovene language.
As I understand from your private message you are interested in a person who may not be the same person as mentioned in my posts. I'll check the matter and contact you.
