Postscript:
OSS Spy Eric Erickson
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Erickson_%28spy%29
In a 1962 book Erickson reportably had some close calls:
His german contact was reportably among several members of the resisitance shot by a Firing Squad-reportably Henirich Himmler
was an onlooker. {apparently he was in love with his german Contact according to Atlantic although it doesn't tell if she survivied the war or not}
He was forced to kill a German who was about to denouce him to the Gestapo and then flee Germany {Although the Atlantic story shows this is fiction!}
In the Movie version he is deounced by a Hitler youth to a Gestapo agent whom Erickson knocks unconscious before fleeing Germany.
Can it be confirmed that Himmler witnessed executions besides the one instance in August 1941?

in 1943 Three british POWS escaped from Stalag Luft III
In a book version published 1949 as "The Wooden Horse" it was later remade into a 1950 movie of the same name-
There are differences: in the book while crossing a border the POWs are forced to kill a german sentry who tried to
stop them at the border; in the movie version one of the POWS is hiding under a boat when he is approached by a
German Sentry-who is killed by the resisitance {although the Uniform the actor wears looks like it came from WW I!}
Which version is correct?
