I am attempting to write a history of 1 Articelere in NA WW2 on the basis of the scarce informations published up to today. Every information (and the relative literature) is welcome and I will share my material before publishing it (perhaps...!).
Soonest I will go to Rome to read the official unpublished documents of the regiment, but at moment I have gathered lots of scattered informations for the three Articelere Regiments (1-2-3). It is poorly known that those artillerymen were employed in first line due to their mobility (truck and howitzer, field gun or 20mm MG; in some cases also 88 aa/at) even as motorized or trench infantry, moving daily from one place of the front to another, often aggregated to different units (for example Pavia, Brescia, Ariete, Sabratha, 90 Leichte, zbV Afrika, etc.). Their weapons, besides guns, a small revolver, a cavalry rifle and some hand grenades, but very little ammunitions!
