Roberti Lordi in China

#1

Post by Jerry Asher » 26 Oct 2014, 06:34

i am hopeful that someone can clarify with a degree of confidence a.) when did Roberti Lordi arrive in China--Ship date and mission, b.) did he fly missions at the request of the Chinese against dissidents, rebels, bandits, etc in 1932 or 1933, C) if so what aircraft?, d,were there any Italian planes in China prior to the CA 101's on the Conde Verde in January 1934,? Finally is this chronology right? 1. first aircraft are as above CA 101's January 1934. 2. then delivery of Brega m27's, then Brega 18 as trainers for Loyang 1936,3. CA 11's at some point and Cr-32' in 1936. Opening of Loyang in 1935 and Nanchang in late 1936 and production of SM's very late 1936 and February 1937. Many thanks in advance.

Hello Jerry, maybe this link could be useful for you (unfortunately, in Italian Language):

http://www.difesa.it/Pubblicistica/info ... n_Cina.pdf

Only two minor corrections: the name is Roberto Lordi (see http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_Lordi ) and the planes are Breda not Brega

regards

Many thanks Fabrizio: The article is helpful but I would like to get to one more layer of detail. In particular the when things happened? Dates orderes placed. Production? and most important shipping, arrival, assembly and delivery. I am still confused that the training aircraft follow the fighters--although I would speculate that China's vote against Italy in November 1935 at the League of Nations, might have altered the working relations of the two countries. My typing errors are due to my impatience--altthough Roberti in place of Roberto is inexcusable. Please all, accept my apology. Have a great week. The article you suggested is excellent.
