Looking for information on Mario Cornalba, who I believe was a General in the Italian army, any biographical details welcome

Mario Cornalba commanded the 7th Alpini Regiment from June 1937 to 9 October 1940

Many thanks

Hi,

This is the very little I've been able to find out:

He commanded the "Feltre" Battalion, 7th Alpini Regiment as a Major from 4 June 1937 - 9 October 1940 (some sources have him as CO of the Regiment, though I have Lt Colonel Carlo Danioni from 10 July 1937 - 14 October 1937, and Colonel Carlo Ghe from 15 October 1937 - 20 September 1940);
In 1942 he was a Lt. Colonel, Vice Chief of Staff of the Alpine Corps;
He would have reached General rank after the war.

Best regards,

VJK
