Combined Arms - Wehrmacht

#1

Post by Flakor Potemkin » 22 Oct 2014, 02:54

I have read a number of sources that say the Wehrmacht was indeed the first military force to conduct successful combined arms operations in between the different branches of service in military history. Unternehmen (Operation) Weserübung, the invasion of Denmark and Norway was where the successful combination involving the Heer, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe took place. Can anyone else confirm this and perhaps share some more information?

Thanks

The wars between greeks and persians had both alternating and simultaneous land and sea components. And both Siege of Constantinopole and Yorktown, were joint land-sea affairs.
Nobody expects the Fallschirm! Our chief weapon is surprise; surprise and fear; fear and surprise. Our 2 weapons are fear and surprise; and ruthless efficiency. Our *3* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency; and almost fanatical devotion
