FHQ "Wehrwolf' - a virtual visit anno 1942 - Pt 2

Hello,

The result of 15 on-site visits, the analysis of a 1.000 archival pictures and 5 years of study is the complete construction of the Highest Security Zone (Sperrkreis 1) of the unknown Führerhauptquartier "Wehrwolf" in 3D.

I built the zone anno Summer 1942 and with meteo and sun conditions (= shadows) as can be observed in most of the available pictures (BPK, Ullstein, National Archives, Walter Frentz and my own collection).

I got my complete results in a professional software for architects and landscape builders: Lumion 6 PRO. This software also offers an on-line Beta-version (only temporarily) which can be visited and viewed by any modern device (computer, tablets, smartphone etc.). As it is restricted to 10 viewing positions, I will offer our members two tours:

- Tour 1: "The Lagerstrasse" = 10 viewing positions around the asphalt main road, the backbone of these headquarters; and
- Tour 2: "Hitler and the OKW" = 10 viewing positions on the dustfree walkpaths and the main buildings for Hitler and the OKW-Staff.

For Tour 2 ("Hitler and the OKW"):

Note that every viewing position offers you a complete free 360° look-around possibility. Just rotate the complete scene with your mouse, your fingers or the keyboard arrows (left, right, up and down). NO zooming yet!

The ten viewing positions are indicated on the map as attached and are:

1. The OKW-Arbeitsbaracke (the principal building for the work of the Wehrmachtführungsstab [WFSt] = coordination, maproom, analysts etc.);
2. The crossroad on the dustfree walking paths near the Lagerstrasse (can be observed: the Adjutants house, the Tea House / Kasino and House Nr 13 (OKW: Keitel, Jodl);
3. The round clearing outside House Nr 13 (OKW: Keitel, Jodl). It shows the wooden telephone box. The open field (airfield strip for light liason aircraft) to the South is obvious;
4. The dustfree walking path connecting the OKW-Arbeitsbaracke, House Nr 13 (OKW: Keitel, Jodl) and House Nr 11 (Hitler's lodging);
5. The seating area close to the open field next to House Nr 11 (Hitler's lodging). One can observe the construction of the concrete air raid shelter to the wooden house.;
6. House Nr 11 (Hitler's lodging) - main entrance;
7. The dustfree walking path connecting House Nr 11 (Hitler's lodging), House Nr 12 (Martin Bormann), the Stenographers house and House Nr 10 (Kasino);
8. The open square in front of House Nr 10 (Kasino). Its main entrance to the dining room.;
9. The open square in front of House Nr 10 (Kasino) and House Nr 19 (Teehaus). The open veranda with seating area is obvious.;
10. The firefighting water reservoir (aka "the pool"). A small shed for firefighting equipment and pumphouse can be observed.

I know that the characters (persons, soldiers and Generals) are not 100% historical correct and show some flaws. They are placed for comparison and to provide some "life" to the Headquarters.

Enjoy your visit....
