It is roughly as follows (any correction appreciated)

Untauglich = not fit for duty
Gebietsverluste = human territorial losses
Menschenreserven = human reserves not conscripted
Uk = indispensable person not conscripted
Iststärke = strenght of field army
Verluste = losses

Blue color are NKVD, marine, air forces, far east + interior = 5,1 million.

Btw the class years are 1888-1926 = 17-55 years

On 1.9.43 there were some 11.5 million men in the Soviet Army. See:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 4#p1383134
Plus some 450 000 in the Navy and let's say 600 000 in NKVD troops. Total 12.6 mln men. The FHO estimate (13.2 mln) was thus no very different from reality, especially if we add NKPS troops and civil personnel. At the same time breakdown of this aggregate strength between various components is not quite accurate: 2 million men in the Soviet air force is a way over the mark.
The estimate of losses looks considerably exaggerated. Losses during the year from 1.9.42 to 1.9.43 are shown as 3.4 million, according to Krivosheev there were some 2.2 million casualties from 1.10.42 to 1.10.43 or 1/3 less. Inclusion of the classes up to 1888 (55 years old in 1943) to military potential seems to be to generous as well.

Actually we have a memorandum by general Tschadenko summing up the situation with Soviet manpower as of 1.9.42. From this doc total consumption of manpower for the armed forces was 18 069 000 men, of them:
In the army, navy, NKVD forces on 1.09.42 - 11 055 700 men
wounded in hospitals - 766 000
Total in military - 11 821 700 (12 400 000 according to the FHO)
Losses by 1.09.42 (killed, missing, deaths to wounds) - 5 097 300 (FHO - 9.4 million)
Discharged as physically unfit - 1 115 000

Lost on the occupied territory - 5 631 000 (4.2 million according to FHO)

Remainder of resource:
reserved in civil sector - 2 781 000 plus 1 321 000 in labor columns, total 4 102 000 (FHO - 5.9 mln)
class of 1925 (excluding physically unfit) - 700 000
Remainder of nonconscripted men fit for service up to 45 years old - 1 761 000
Men 17-45 years in GULag and prisons - 1 156 000
Total reserves not conscripted - 3 617 000 (FHO - 2.9 mln)

Exempt from military service (Germans, Romanians etc) - 250 000
Part of the number seem to be estimated and not necessarily accurate.

wounded and sick in hospitals - 851 000
Total military - 11 798 000
Irrevocable losses - 5 950 000
Discharged or on long-term leave - 982 000
Lost on occupied territory - 5 631 000 + 965 000 (classes of 1924 and 1925) = 6 596 000
Exempt from military service - 250 000
Transferred for employment in industry - 2 541 000

Class of 1925, conscripted - 817 000
