Great photos, both here and the last post on the previous page, Chris44. Thanks for posting them.

It's interesting that Anne Gunhild wears the Wiking cufftitle on her uniform.

Best regards,

~Vikki

You can also see her wearing a Frontkjemper silver medal on her left breast pocket. The Frontkjemper (Frontfighter) depicted a medieval Norwegian warrior brandishing a sword and displaying a shield.

Beautiful photographs chris44
Also here you can clearly see the Wiking cufftitle on her uniform.

Great photos, Helge!

However, just want to point out that the caption of the photo of the three nurses above, at viewtopic.php?p=1706598#p1706598, has right and left reversed. Anne Gunhild, wearing the Iron Cross, is actually on the left. The women in the middle and on the right have just been awarded the Kriegsverdienstkreuz mit Schwertern (War Merit Cross with Swords).

Best,

~Vikki

Thanks for the clarification. Without you everything would be less accurate.

A period postcard of Hanna Reitsch, noting her EKI and II awards on the back. From http://www.marhistorical.com/
