Mike,

Thank you for adding to my list of three recipients in regards to my question. I
noticed you said Sister Pia was not on the list. Did she have a low party number
because I noticed that there were some recipients of the Blood Order who did
not qualify for the badge due to a high membership number? Thanks in advance.

Coburg
This is possible.
The high or low NSDAP party number does NOT guarentee a Golden Party Badge. Yes the number will be under 100,000 as we know but continuous dues paying membership weeds out over 70% of these!
A Blood order could be won, say, by a member with higher number but who was imprisoned for political crimes in Austria for 12 months. This would be 2nd issue Blood order of course.

regards
Matt

Hello,

another female recipient of the Golden Party Badge was Luise von Oertzen, Generalhauptführerin of the German Red Cross and Generaloberin (Matron General?) of the DRK Schwesternschaften (nurse sororities?)

Hello,

Has anyone by chance come across information regarding to Sister Pia being a Golden Party Badge Recipient yet? I thought it was interesting that not only was she a recipient of the Blood Order but also found her name on the list of Coburg Badge recipients with two other women.

Best,

James

Hi to all the friends of the Golden Party Badge,

by chance I found another recipient of the badge: Reichspost-Inspektorin Elise Spengler.
Some short info on her life:

Born May 1875, her father is a Bavarian senior forrester.
April 1898 joins Postal Service.
April 1920 promoted to Post-Sekretärin. (Maximum rank women could reach in the Weimar Republic.)
March 1925 joins NSDAP
August 1930 joins NS Frauenschaft
October 1933 becomes donating member of the SS (förderndes Mitglied) (!)
1934 joins Reichsluftschutzbund
April 1935 joins NSV
October 1937 joins Reichskolonialbund
1938 receives Golden Party Badge
1938 promoted to Post-Inspektorin without even passing the required exam. (i.e. jumps from officials' middle level career track to officials' elevated level career track.) Inspektorin was the maximum rank women could achieve in the Reichspost during the Third Reich.
Spengler dies February 1942.

The photo below dates April 19th, 1939 and the place on her coat where the Golden Party Badge should be is empty so at least until 1939 Sister Pia obviously didn't get it.

In a bio. on Magda the author seemed to explain that she was the only woman to be awarded a Gold Party Badge. Whether or not this is true, I am unsure.

Direct quote from Magda Goebbels by Anja Klabunde pg.319:
"the gold party insignia was the highest honour that a woman ever received in the Third Reich."

This was the sentence that came after a description of Hitler giving Magda the badge during his last goodbyes.

As far as I have been able to establish, Eleonore Bauer were not awarded the GPB, at official party functions she wore the Blutorder and the Oberlandkreutz as can be seen on official photos.

She received the Blutorder on November 8, 1934 at a memorial in the Bürgerbräukeller and Hitler presented the order to her personally.
