Rosalind von Schirach sister of Baldur

Postby mulisch on 03 Mar 2007 22:39

Hello to you all,

Is there somebody who can tell more about the soprano singing sister of Baldur van Schirach, Rosalind (1898). She was singing star at the Berlin Deutsche Oper and was in love with Gerhard Husch (i don't know if they maried later on). She organized a powerful Nazi cell that wielded much influence (is there more to tell about this cell ?). One trade journal hailed her as the "ideal image of a Nordic-Aryan singer."

Every peace of information is welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Mulisch

I believe she married an American Colonel and moved with him to the US after the war.

Jimmy,

I want to thank you for this information, is there perhaps a source where you can refer to where you found this information ?

To you all,

First i want to know if somebody perhaps know the name of this American Colonel, was he stationed in Germany after the war ?

As i look back to the information that i have, i thought she a believer in the National Socialist Party. She also organized a powerful Nazi cell that wielded much influence. But after the war she married an American Colonel and moved with him to the US, did she lost her trust in the Nazi party during the war ? Is there somebody who can help me out here ?

What happened to her relation with Gerhard Husch, why didn't they married later on ?

Did she visited het brother Baldur von Schirach during his trial in in Nürnberg 1945/1946 ?

Thanks in advance,

Mulisch

Last year I bought a pair of Zeiss binoculars off eBay which belonged to Baldur Von Schirach. The guy I bought them off told me how he came to have them:-

He lived in Germany with his family after the war and knew Rosalind Von Schirach by going into a shop she either owned or was working in at the time. At some point she had married an American Colonel and both were planning to return to the USA, so she was selling off most of her belongings including the binoculars. He also confirmed to me that she was an Opera singer. That is all the information I have. How do you know that she was an active Nazi???

also see:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerhard_H%C3%BCsch

The Pic below is the binoculars............

Hello Jimmy,

Thanks for the given information, but i think that you forgot to attach the picture of the binoculars ?

You asked me where the information came from that she was an active Nazi, i have got it from the site mentioned here below. This site makes clear that she organized a powerful Nazi cell that wielded much influence, but maybe during the war she was not that active for the Nazi's anymore ? I have no further information about this cell that she organized. Maybe there is somebody whon knows more about it ?

site: http://www.nytimes.com/books/first/k/kater-muse.html

Here is also a picture of her during her opera time.

Greetings,

Mulisch

I seem to recall that in the U.S. his name is Rosalind Benedikta Norris. We must search.
