Well,
as you may remember my last venture into the field of 'SS-Kriegshelferin' wasn't that succesfull but undeterred I'll try again.
Below both sides of a photography. At first glance the SS eagle on her cap seems to be missing but when you look closer there is a dark patch on the left side of the cap.
I've seen various pictures of male SS members with caps that had the eagle attached on the left side. Did anyone ever see this in connection with SS auxiliaries, SS Kriegshelferinnen in particular, being done too?
What convinces me most so far that this is not a girl in her boyfriend's SS uniform is her shirt. This matches exactly the shirt of SS Kriegshelferinnen in the reference thread Ancasta once provided ( http://www.regimentals.co.uk/shop/viewp ... 91a&phqu=5 ).
[OK, the jacket is right over left also so it must be a ladies' edition.]
'Schönefeld' is presumably referring to the Henschel aircraft factory south of Berlin. Today the airport Berlin-Schönefeld is situated on the site of the former Henschel factory. According to http://www.stiftung-bg.de/Aussenlager/lager/index.php it was supplied with a work force from Ravensbrück concentration camp (Ravensbrück = women's camp) in summer 1944. Later the forced labourers were subordinated to Sachsenhausen concentration camp. In March 1945 they numbered about 650.

She seems to be wearing jackboots, despite the photo being taken early in the autumn in apparently pleasant weather. Nearly all the photos I've seen of Helferinnen wearing jackboots have clearly been taken in the depths of winter - the rest of the time, they mostly seem to be wearing plain shoes. Does that mark this Helferin out as unusual, or are photos of Helferinnen in jackboots more common than I think?
