Your correct, it is interesting.

One should remember how this Mitford was only nineteen when she first became infactuated with
Hitler. A very silly girl.

A dysfunctional family too...Jessica became a Communist, Diana married Oswald Mosley, and Unity became a fanatical Hitler worshipper. They used to joke in their letters to each other about having the other shot. Politics eventually separated them from Jessica. I have read the "Mitford Letters" and they are a good read. The letters read as if the girls considered all of this political stuff a frivolous game which got more serious as Britain got closer to war with Germany.

After Unity shot herself, suffering brain damage, she wasn't interested in Hitler or Nazism anymore. She read children's books and the Bible. She had to learn how to talk all over again until the bullet moved and she died. The film actually says she had a child but Diana vehemently denies this.
