Hi Vikki,
thank you for your kind words about my humble contributions to this forum. For me, like for any other collector, it's always sobering to see the results of a long-going effort simply being ripped off without the slightest 'Thank you' or at least an URL where it was taken from. By omitting the text accompanying the pictures a good deal of their information value is lost anyway. And chopping off watermarks like this 'Glory soandso' does even kills the special charme many of these photos have. The result is just a mess as a comparison between the original here and his/her bootleg shows.
But now on to a friendlier matter. Here's another interesting picture showing two Army signals auxiliaries in the company of Spanish volunteers from the Division Azul. (At least that's what the seller claimed.) What irritated me initially is that the men's uniforms are definitely not German. But according to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Division this is o.k. :
Because the soldiers could not use official Spanish army uniforms, they adopted a symbolic uniform comprising the red berets of the Carlists, khaki trousers used in the Spanish Legion, and the blue shirts of the Falangists – hence the nickname "Blue Division." This uniform was used only while on leave in Spain; in the field, soldiers wore the German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) field gray uniform with a shield on the upper right sleeve bearing the word "España" and the Spanish national colors.
Unfortunately my knowledge of Spanish uniforms is sketchy to non-existent. It would be nice if someone could confirm that these are indeed said 'volunteer' uniforms.
