711. Infanterie-Division

Here are updates for the 711. Infanterie-Division.

711. Infanterie-Division was formed May 1941 as part of the 15. Welle (wave). It was transferred to France in June 1941 where it served on occupation, security and coastal defense duties. After suffering heavy losses in Normandy, it was refitted in the Netherlands south of Rotterdam. Transferred to Hungary in Dec 1944, the division fought on the Eastern Front for the rest of the war. It surrendered May 1945 to the Red Army near Deutsch Brod.

Hi, what were the fate of both Oberst von Watzforf and Oberst Jobst von Bosse after the German surrender ? I know Reichert was captured by Amercian.

Kampfgruppe Treuerkauf is mentioned once in the same area(North of Antwerp),but it's unkown to me.
It was possibly a Kriegsmarine unit.
Do you or someone else have information about this unit?

Hi some people tell me that Oberst Bosse last Kdr. of 711. ID captured by Russian but without sources, anyone can confirm this ?

I think Jobst von Bosse should be Oberst Jobst-Hilmar Graf von Bose (Ritterkreuz 1941)

Jobst-Hilmar Bodo Alexander Graf von Bose died of war wounds in 1949 in Bamberg on 26-03-1949

The first name of the Oberst von Watzdorf is Bernhard-Georg

15.03.1943 mit der Führung der 711. Infanterie-Division beauftragt
01.04.1943 Kommandeur der 711. Infanterie-Division
14.04.1945 durch Autounfall schwer verletzt; Führerreserve [severely wounded by car crash]
