Currently, there is only a section on Divisions with cover names (1934-1935) that covers the Artillerieführer and Infanterieführer .
These were not only cover names but real positions since 1919, first (Übergangsheer) in the Brigades as command staff above the Regiments, then the same in the divisions. Only after 1933 were they used as cover names for the rapid expansion of the armed forces. The few Reichswehr divisions had large areas to cover and in some cases, the Artillerieführer and Infanterieführer had their command posts / offices in the regions where their subordinate regiments were stationed. Not all Brigades/Divisions had both an InfF and an ArtF. A good number of senior generals in WWII had been InfF or ArtF in the 1920s at one point, and/or been their Ia.
I suggest some changes based on that:
- 1. a separate overview list of Artillerieführer and Infanterieführer linked from a parent page here between "Brigades" and "Regiments"
2. individual pages for InfF and ArtF to be constructed in the future (as content comes in)
3. entries with links on the division and brigade individual unit pages to their subordinate InfF/ArtF (e.g., RW Brigade24 had InfF24 subordinate to it)
4. entries in the regiments, listing their superordinate commands (InfF/ArtF, Brig/Div).
Happy to start filling content
