Soviet Rocket Boat "T-5"??

Postby PT Dockyard on 08 Aug 2012 03:52

Can anyone shed light on what type of boat this is?

Image

It looks like a stylized drawing of a G-5 MTB.

It is from this site: http://www.bratishka.ru/archiv/2005/2/2005_2_6.php

Obviously, this is G-5 torpedo speedboat armed with M-8-M rocket launcher ("Katyusha") - at least Russian language capture says so.

Yes, the drawing is awful (probably, taken from some old Soviet-era book). Here is much better and true one:

Hello Dave,
in my opinion You saw really a MO-2 and it not could be a G-5 - torpedo boat - boat. Alex is right with his very good source: http://sovnavy-ww2.narod.ru/mtb/typ_g5.htm
Look at that picture which I found.
