Soviet infantry forces in June 1941: strong or weak?
BIGPanzer,
Which "Red Army in June 1941, statistical review" do you have?
You know they came out with a 2nd edition, right?
If yours is hard back, its the 2nd, if its soft cover, you've got the 1st. (Besides, they did a crapping job binding the first; mine fell apart in about 6 months. That's probably why they went with the hard cover in the 2nd).
BTW, you do have the book "Krasnaya Armiya v Pobedakh i Porazheniyakh 1941 - 1945" (The Red Army in VIctory and Defeat 1941 - 1945), right?
600 pages of where the Tomsk Group left off.
Also, they did a Cold War book also. I call them the Tomsk Group because one of the authors, V. I. Golikov, is the head of military instruction at Tomsk State University in Tomsk.

Hi, Konev!
I had the 2nd edition of the book "Red Army in June 1941, statistical review".
Unfortunately, I don't have the book "Krasnaya Armiya v Pobedakh i Porazheniyakh 1941 - 1945" (The Red Army in VIctory and Defeat 1941 - 1945).
Hi, Kuniworth!
As for the Soviet infantry corps. I have the info about the fate of all of them, but I have no time to post this info at the moment. Generally, as I've already mentioned, infantry corps (defeated and preserved) were disbanded in July 1941 because of lack of experienced command staff and equipment for them, only 6 infantry corps (from pre-war 62) remained in December 1941. But the amount of all-arms armies increased from 27 to 58 (16 infantry corps were reclassified as all-arms armies in summer 1941, 19th corps became the 2nd Neva all-arms group, 20th corps became Bryansk Front 14.08.1941, others were disbanded, 6 infantry corps remained: special of Far-Eastern Front, 9th (disbanded 07.05.1942), 26th, 39th, 58th, 69th). Armies usually contained 5-6 infantry divisions only, for operational mobility.
See this table, for example - http://www.soldat.ru/spravka/korpusa_rkka/table1.html

Re:
In accordance with Steen Ammentrop website The Generals of WWII, Soviet page, commander of 192nd Mountain Rifle division is Mj Gen.P.F. Privalov,( 1939-42) not Col. Zakharchenko, so when this division was destroyed in Aug 1941, exactly who command the division ?BIGpanzer wrote:The full list of Soviet infantry divisions, which were defeated during the first months of the war.

Re: Soviet infantry forces in June 1941: strong or weak?
How about 43. Infantry Division destroyed in Karelian Isthmus late August 1941?
"The 1.9 was a spectaculare moment for JR24, as the commander of the Soviet 43rd Division Gen.major Vladimir Kirpitschnikow and the commisar of the division Col Terichov where captured."

Colonel Zaharchenko A.S. - Commander of 25 RD 14 RC PA Southern Front since March 1941. Defended Odessa. In August 1941 was appointed chief of operations of the PA headquarters.
Re: Soviet infantry forces in June 1941: strong or weak?
43 RD did not not lost banner and did not suffer irretrievable losses to be disbanded. The division was not even put in reserve to recruiting and immediately directed to a new area of hostilities. Captivity division commander was not considered the cause of the disband of the division.
