Russia's top snipers / generals?

Postby namrufmot on 07 Jun 2003 20:32

Forgive me if this has been covered (i searched first), but I have a two-part question.

1. Is there a list of the top 12 (or so) Russian snipers during the war?

2. Is there a list of the top 12 (or so) ranking generals/officers during the war?

Yahoo doesnt wanna give me alot of info on russia..its all on either the us or germany!

thanks in advance, tom

There used to be a good list with the top Russian snipers but unfortunately the site has been hacked. If it's not urgent I might be able to make the kind of list you request, I'll put it on my 'to do'-list and hopefully you will have it sometime during this summer.

Best regards/ Daniel

In that site there were few good pieces of information, like few rare pics and some personal information about Soviet military personnel. But 90% of the information in that site was Stalinist crap, disinformation, pure lies and half-truths.

I say good riddens (and NO, i am not responsible  ).

Anyway, here is the "WW2 best snipers" list on that site: There is possibility that it is somewhat correct when we are talking Soviet snipers... (notice that list doesn't mention the best WW2 sniper at all, and at least one another top-20 man is missing - but hey, they weren't Soviets. It would had made the list look - sooo bad :) . Surprisingly few Germans did make to the list...).

Snipers - Mark not Soviet snipers -snipers in general. It somewhat difficult to establish firm conformation for kill achieved at 1000 m - no matter what your ethnicity is.
Nikolay Il’in – 494
Ivan Sidorenko – around 500
Mikail Budenkov – 437
Fedor Ohlopkov – 429
Fedor Diachenko – 425
Afanasiy Gordinko – 417
Stepan Petrenko – 412
Mean Yakut – Fedor Ohlopkov – counting those who he killed while manning machinegun – about 1000.

Oleg,

I said it once, and say it again - Soviet snipers. :)

Anyway - i would gladly receive some information about WW2 super-human sniper who in regular basis scored at 1000 metres....
