Hello,
The waffenfarbe for chaplains was indeed purple. If I can recall where I have seen a colour photo of a piece of uniform or a colour plate I will edit this entry to let you know.

I knew I had seen one somewhere...here you go -

Hi,

Would the Imams and Mullahs of units like SS-Handschar and SS-Kama wear purple waffenfarbe on their uniform?

Just curious...

Very doubtfull, because the Waffen-SS didn't actively acknowledge religion, there was no regulation for the purple waffenfarbe so IF they wore a uniform it would be that of the Division they were assigned to, in both cases Gebirgsjäger thus they would be green-piped.

The Imams were employed with Fachführer status and wore the appropriate insignia: A blank right-hand collar patch and red-and-grey piping on their shoulderboards.

The SS' equivalent to the Sonderführer of the Wehrmacht: Essentially, civilian specialists serving on temporary duty assignments for the duration of the war, filling duty positions for which regular career- or reserve military personnel were unavailable.

People such as the Maybach employees who were attached to the Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung to service, maintain and repair the Tiger engines.
