16th SS Panzer Grenadier Division "Reichsführer-SS" Sturmgeschütz with trooper wearing black leather submariner’s jacket! I couldn't imagine how hot it is inside the tank, especially in the blazing Italian summer!

That's a knocked out sturmgeschutz ... that guy could be of any nationality. The 1944/45 winter was particularly cold so the leather jacket (whatever style it is) may have been very neccesary.

I really don't understand this picture: Gerhart Schirmer wearing Generalmajor uniform, while his ultimate rank in the Wehrmacht was Oberstleutnant?

AlifRafikKhan,
It's not unusual for Kriegsmarine officers to have served as Observers or to be involved with "Air Sea Rescue" with resultant award of Luftwaffe qualification awards or Flight clasps....not common, but certianly not that unusual....
The picture of (his rank in the picture) Major Schirmer actually shows him in the proper uniform for a Luftwaffe officer, not a general's uniform....I think your looking at the white collar tabs and assuming they are Generals....however, the bullion and piping would be in gold for generals ranks....these are silver (officers)....and the white is either for Hermann Göring Division or from a mistaken attempt to colorize the picture. Very often, a colorized picture will have incorrect colors.
I don't know if Schirmer was in the H. Göring Division off the top of my head....if so, then what you see is correct for a Major....(open top full wreath w/1 gull in silver bullion with silver piping)...
Nice pictures....

Gerhart Schirmer was the commander of the Fallschirmjäger-Rgt. 6 (Ost). Last rank Oberst. Surrendered to the British and then escaped, recaptured and then managed to escaped. Recaptured by the Soviets and send to the Sachsenhausen and transfered to Vorkuta, Siberia. Spend 10 years in Vorkuta and was released in 1955 amnesty. Served in the Bundeswehr and commanded a Parachute Brigade and later as Oberst he was Höherer Kommandeur der Heeresflieger (a Colonel-in-Chief of Bundeswehr Army Aviation).

Here is an interesting photo of two Afrika Korps Panzer members. One with the standard AFRIKAKORPS cufftitle and the other with a non-standard type that was probably custom made...

That isn't anything unusual, the 'Totenkopf' Division had SS Flak Battalion 3 in it's order of battle.

Re: Pics of Rare&Strange Uniform,Wardrobes,Hat,Insignia In W
This interesting photo of a Dutch W-SS member is published in a nice little book covering SD and SIPO in the Netherlands. Apparently this SS men started his career in the W-SS in '41 and was transferred to the SD in the NL after getting wounded. He subsequently also took part in the fighting around Arnhem in '44.
A few aspects about this photo are worth mentioning: the FJ knochensack he is wearing with attached SS-shoulder straps and the TK- collar tab, this since he was of course no member or part of Div.Totenkopf or TK Rgt. Another Photo in the same book shows him as a EM and wearing the regular SS collar tab with runes but with a TK tab on his left collar as well!!

Re: Pics of Rare&Strange Uniform,Wardrobes,Hat,Insignia In W
Here's an image from B.Peitz's DAK publication which the author explains as a custom made uniform...perhaps from woolen great coat material the caption reads, which is totally incorrect...
Obviously the explanation is very simple! We are simply dealing here with a captured British wool Battledress blouse (note hidden buttons) with added continental breast eagle, added tropical collar litzen (yellow arrows) and added German rank insignia (shoulderboards and sleeve chevron)...
The bleached cap with no soutache is also of interest contrasting nicely with the brown (captured/modified) UK uniform...
