Uniforms Without Insignia

#1

Post by MIKE29 » 04 Aug 2009, 17:59

Hi
Came across these will sorting out some old old original photographs from my collection.

1. NCO wearing early pattern tunic with no collar insignia.
Picture taken (possible) Sudetenland area, posters appear to be in Czech and German.
Unsure what branch of service this soldier belongs to?
Any idea why the the absence of collar insignia?

2. Second photograph shows I believe to be Eastern European volunteers.
Wearing I believe In The Service Of The Wehrmacht, type armbands.
Note different belt styles been worn.

I know the German's often supplied volunteers with old clothing stocks has in picture 2.
Any thoughts to the man in picture 1,again being some sort of volunteer in the service of the Reich.

Mike,
The 2nd photo looks like the two "guys" are wearing elongated RAD (or unpiped Schuma) type collar tabs...and does the one with the rectangular buckle had an RAD buckle?

The 1st picture of the NCO I can't see the collar well enough to guess....possibly some sort of transitional uniform....but no idear other than what's visible....

Odd Feldmütze pair and very Reichswehry tunics without Litzen or breast eagle, in the background of an I.R. 34 photo in my accumulation.
