Insignia

What Insignia would a cook (or any other person connected with field kitchens and cooking) have on his uniform and what colour piping would he have?

On the "pea dot" camo jackets did they wear collar patches, cuff titles, arm shields etc or just the arm eagle and awards?

Janos,
Cooks had no special insignia or branch color.....they would wear whatever their parent unit wore....I don't know if they were considered "Specialist"....I don't think so....Thier uniform would be a normal uniform .....though of course they wore Aprons and Chef's headgear when actually cooking.

Normally, no insignia was worn on the Pea/dot pattern SS Camo. jacket, and only the early issues had the bevo sleeve eagle & shoulder boards....but like everything, there is some photographic evidence of indiviguals who added tabs, straps, sleeve eagle, buttonhole ribbon, and awards....(but against regulations).....
Hope this helps...
