The sailor of my avatar is a 21 years old, who died on board his submarine "Torelli" based in Bordeaux (France) march 19, 1943.

As I've stated before.....hard to be 100% positive without provenance, but certianly looks "period" based on what I can see in the photos. It appears to be o.k. (IMO)
