Hi to all readers,
My grandfather served as musician in the Trompeterkorps of the SS-Nachrichten-Sturmbann since 1936.
Now we are trying to buy SS-Schwalbennester with fringes. But now i'm not sure what I should by. Schwalbennester of the Allgemeine SS or others? Can anyone privide me with some informations?
By the way I know thats not easy to find them. So if anyone's selling them. Please let me know
Thanks Robert

Re: SS Schwalbennester
Robert,
A set of original "SS" Musician's "Swallow's Nests" would be NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to find....and potentially VERY EXPENSIVE if you could find a set.... Waffen SS would be "cheaper" than "A-SS".... and the fringed type....well, ten times harder to find than that!
Nearly impossible task IMO.... be prepared to spend big bucks.... (There are "SS" specialist who occassionally have these type items....but very expensive!)...
Sorry...but you're looking for a rarity amoung rarities....
John G.
PS: In 1936 he certianly would have worn the "Black A-SS uniform".....in 1939/40 that would have been exchanged for Wartime fieldgray (except special occassions)...so would depend what time period you were displaying....which version you need.

It's very probably his "sword hanger" ....von thoma wrote:Nice picture.

Agree it's a nice photo- would like to see it un-censored. Is any of his other collar tab visible?- looks like some of it would be showing..... interesting "P-guard" Sword & knot.
