Uniform ID
Uniform ID
Hi, could anyone help me ID these 3 uniforms. If it helps, all the photos were taken in Yugoslavia (Vrbas) around 1942 and 1943.
Uniform 1: Im guessing some form of Police
Uniform 2: (the men in black) Im guessing SS?
Uniform 3: I think this is some kind of right wing Yugoslavian youth movement
Thanks for the help!

Re: Uniform ID
There was no Yugoslavia in 1942-43.
Vrbas was incorporated into Hungary in 1941.
3rd picture - member of Levente Youth.
2nd picture - black uniforms - most probably VDU (Volksbund der Deutschen in Ungarn).
1st picture - they have Levente badges, leaders perhaps? Stripes are from Hungarian coat of arms.

Thanks for the help.
I think you could be right in regards to the 1st picture. For context they are standing in front of a Levente Youth Parade. They are also stood next to two people wearing the same caps as the VDU in the 2nd picture (one of which also wears a long leather jacket and is doing the nazi salute) so im not sure if there could also be a connection there.
I also have a somewhat related question which you may be able to help me with seen as though you have knowledge of Hungary during this time. My great grand father was in the police (in vrbas) from around 1920 to 1944 and over that time he seems to wear a number of uniforms and ranks (his final rank was equivalent to chief of police) but i cannot seem to find any information on the color of the uniforms or the ranks. So if you know of any information or even just a color photo of the police around that time it would be very useful to me. Thanks.

Re: Uniform ID
Well, as I haven't seen any photos of him in uniform, I can't really tell.
I am only guessing that under Hungarian rule (1941-1944), he was a member of Hungarian Royal Gendarmerie or Csendőrség.
Lot's of photos are available here: Museum
Link to color uniform photos is at the bottom of that page.

Thanks for the link. Here are some photos
Re: Uniform ID
First photo - Austro-Hungarian army type uniform, Ensign or Officer Cadet (Fähnrich), covered buttons tunic, sword and collar patch are pre-1918 in my opinion. Merit medals and crosses. Guys in Austro-Hungary section might provide more help.
Second photo - Officer, Hungarian Army 1940's coat with possibly madder-red patch of Gendarme (police).
