Re: Question about Schulterklappe Waffenfarbe and insignia
The subject is on a dress uniform and wears a marksmanship lanyard attached to a button below the shoulder strap, the button tells us the wearer is from the 3rd Company of whatever unit it is. The strap has the bright tresse (ribbon) with a waffenfarbe (branch of service) colour pipe around the outer edge of the strap. The rank may be Unteroffizier but other than that I can say nothing.

Thanks a lot Ian.
Any ideas on the Waffenfarbe? Looks like a light one. White for Infantry?

Re: Question about Schulterklappe Waffenfarbe and insignia
I'd "guess" something besides white... this seems to have been a "colored" piping or would appear "brighter" IMO... (if white, I mean). Of course, we'd only be guessing without more to go on....

Re: Question about Schulterklappe Waffenfarbe and insignia
Yes, I was thinking Golden-Yellow for Cavalry ... not really based on anything but a gut feeling but could just as easily be Pink, Light Blue, Lemon Yellow etc etc Certainly Not Medical, Artillery, Engineer or Panzer-Pionier.John G. wrote:I'd "guess" something besides white... this seems to have been a "colored" piping or would appear "brighter" IMO...
