Identification help

#1

Post by Joseph1821 » 06 Sep 2014, 16:13

I have this photo of a SS man on a bicycle. I am looking to see if anyone can help with the badge that he is wearing on his pocket. It looks like it might be a black wound badge and another unknown badge. His collar tab looks like it might be different than the typical SS runes collar tab. Anything else that I may have missed would be greatly appreciated.

The runes on his collar tab are followed by a numeral (1, 2 or 3, depending on what regiment he served in; those were eventually dropped). It's impossible to positively identify the badges, though the smaller one does look like a wound badge.

Both are basically small oval badges.... one definately a Wound Badge.... the other is (IMHO) probably a DRL Sports badge.... anything else (war Badge, SA Sports) would be "larger"... or differant shape that would probably show.

Of course...impossible to be 100% sure.
