Bought a WW2 German backpack(tourister) you know, the ones with the horse fur .
Inscribed under flap is I guess the ID of WW2 soldat.
Cannot for the life of me find where in my files (favorites)is the Deutschland WW2 Archives.

So, did a www search and have come up empty.
Here is all that is inside..

The fact that the name includes a street address would indicate "postwar" or "Civilian" usage IMO.... (except maybe H.J.)... anyone else would include a "rank" or unit association.....(usually), not a street address.

and its from cow,it was best soliders pillow in tent,it would be named only like the rest gear (helmet ,belt,gasmask etc.)
