Bergmütze - Help needed, please

#1

Post by Maikowski » 23 Oct 2014, 12:26

Dear all,
I think I might well have found the Bergmütze of my dreams.
But before I make a decision, I would appreciate if you could tell me your thoughts about it. Is it period or post-war ?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help

Wouldn't be my "dream hat".... interior looks "new" and gray sweatband is always a red flag.... not for me.
Just my opinion..

Thank you John G. I must say that this gray leather sweatband made me upset as well...
Nevertheless, I saw a Schirmmütze once that had a a gray leather sweatband. Well... it was one of the Luftwaffe. But it was a good one.
I am still hoping... But I do not want this nice dream to turn into a nightmare...

It may be a Bundeswehr Bergmütze ( in gabardine cloth ) converted.
Both "Abzeichen" looks well.

You are correct, sir. Dishonest people or reenactors have been adding TR insignia to Bundeswehr and Bundespolizei headgear for years.
