Flammpanzers. Tank uniform [black] or assault gun uniform [grey]?
Even if we find out, it...
probably was unit dependent too. I.e for some divs /korps, it was in assault gun btn; some others it is was in tank reg. (But even if in armor reg it still might not be black with red collar piping.)
Were flammpz farmed out at korp level?
(Same question for late war Panzer III N too.)
Flammpanzer: tank uniform or assault gun uniform?
Re: Flammpanzer: tank uniform or assault gun uniform?
Flammpanzer crews mostly wore black uniforms, as seen on period pics of PzII Flamingo, french Beute modified Flammpanzer B1bis (f) and Flammpanzer III.
Sd.Kfz 251/16 crews wore standart uniforms.

Re: Flammpanzer: tank uniform or assault gun uniform?
Tanks armed with flamethrowers belonged to the Panzertruppen so the crews wore black tank uniforms. The crews of late war Pz IIIN were the same.
The answer to your Corps question is yes and no, the three flamethrower battalions in Barbarossa were Corps/Army troops independent of any Panzer Divisions but the 1943 onwards Flammpanzer III's were part of the Panzer Regiment within a Panzer Division.
What made you think they had RED Waffenfarbe ? That was for the Artillery.
