folding an M43 cap

#1

Post by Glyphagos » 31 Jul 2015, 07:50

Hi, I was wondering how Enlisted men and Officers would fold their M43 caps and tuck it in somewhere around their uniform to wear their Stahlhelm.

more or less I am wondering how to do it and the methods involved as to not ruin the cap.

:welcome:
Normally they would fold them "down the middle" (front/rear) and stick it in their belt or "Y" straps...(or inside the breadbag, pack, or inside their tunic (either partially sticking out or buttoned inside).

Of course, that will crease the bill, depending on how much you fold the visor.... depending on what it's made of, they can and often will "crack" along the bend/seam.... if you have an "unbent" original M43 cap, I'd leave it as is (don't fold)... if it's a repro M43, "fold away"....
Hope this helps... pretty much "common sense, really.
