The White nebenfarbe belonged to what was often called the "Standard Branch" which covered around 9 careers along with some nebenfarbe being discontinued and the career folded into the weiß nebenfarbe, the rosa nebenfarbe "Clothing Depots" Heeresbekleidungsämter was one which changed over sometime around 1936. Amongst them were - as John G mentioned - "Paymasters" of the Non-technical Administration Service. Other branches were all Officials of the lower career of the Food Supply Service and Garrison Administration, the Transport Service, the Disabled Persons and Veterans Service, Shop Foremen in the following: Bakery and Milling Service, Clothing and Barracks Service ........then just to confuse things - as there were 4 different career levels, based on education levels ranging from University Degrees to Grade School Diploma/Apprenticeship, also in the case of the "Elevated career" 2 -3 years of practical training was required as well - each career/service may contain all four levels or only one or two or three.

How ever the white nebenfarbe only had the 3 lower careers, there was no High Grade or hoherer Dienst.........

Can get quite confusing sometimes ;)
