How to get my M42 Field Cap to have this bend?

Guten Abend, I have seen several reenactors in Youtube and some from original photos of their M42 field caps with an almost upside down V shape to their cap's bills, I don't know if this is historically accurate or not, if so, how do I shape mine to look like theirs?

Cheers

P.S. In the photos and pictures, theirs seems to actually look good on them, I don't know if it's my face or lack of a strong chin, any help on this as well?
