Trying to authenticate arm bands.

I picked up 2 armbands at a local antique store. They look authentic and old. I'm familiar with lots of "tells" about American gear but not so much with German. Here are pics of them. Any help would be awesome.

:welcome:
Not a good beginning, both are horrible fakes!
Anything SS or Concentration Camp related is 99% of the time going to be fake!

What makes them fake? They pass the blacklight test minus the inside part of thread.....

Wrong materials, wrong construction, there was no black "SS" rune armband... sorry, really everything about these is not correct. The blacklight test only tells if it's made of synthetic materials.... or been washed with modern detergents... NOT if it's real. The age is easy to fake.

You can check "The Wehrmacht Awards forum".... but the answer will be the same. I've collected since 1958 and been a "local" dealer for 40 + years...
I have no ax to grind... you asked and I replied.

The SS armband is a fantasy piece ..... the other one more than likely is as well.

The fact they are not real. Everything that could be wrong IS wrong.

That's one HUGE minus
