I suppose this is a common topic, but recently I came across an old photo in a family stash. They appear to me to be Prussian soldiers with uniforms similar to those pictured here: http://s400910952.websitehome.co.uk/imp ... %20fus.htm. However, I haven't been able to find any information about the men's caps, the unusual collar devices, or the badge the front and center man is wearing.
The upper device on the hats appears to be the imperial german cockade, but again, the light and dark colors seem to be opposite from the ones I've seen. I haven't been able to identify anyone in the picture, but from the pinholes near the top of the cardstock it seemed to be a family photo of great importance. If anyone could enlighten me on any aspect of this picture, it would be much appreciated!

Re: Unit Photo Identification
Thank you very much!
Due to the identification of the uniforms, we were able to identify (almost positively) the correct ancestor. Thank you for all your help. It is a privilege to be a member of this forum.
